Steve watched the construction of the dam & clearing for the lake while hiking the Redlands WMA, where the dam is today. Seeing the lake fill up, camping with friends & family where the Ritz Carlton stands today, Steve has seen this lake from the very beginning.
His mother, two brothers, two aunts, all moved from Atlanta in the early 80’s to re-locate to Lake Oconee. Later we discovered that 4 generations ago his forefathers left this area & moved to west Georgia (the Sharp Family), and today we’re back.
His favorite pastimes here include fishing, boating, water sports and hunting for Indian artifacts, enjoying the wildlife; activities that bring the family together and are shared by many friends.
His family has had a rich life here at Oconee. His brother was a primary builder when several of the golf and equestrian communities were first established. While his brother was developing & building, Steve was traveling the US as a senior executive (20 years) for the Pharmavite Corporation (Nature Made Vitamins) and played a key role in the development of that company until 2001, going from 8 million to 340 million in sales. After the events of 911, he decided his flying days were over and acted as a consultant to consumer driven companies with regional needs to avoid the airport and spend more time with his family.
In 2007 he started selling real-estate around Lake Oconee and has never looked back. Being able to help people find their dream home is his mission today. Helping them attain the life style which he has enjoyed for so many years is a privilege. Seeing the transition from dream to reality through the client’s eyes with clear vision is very exciting and a reward in itself.
